The French from Oreca Motorsport company are developing an R4 kit for rally cars. Dacia Sandero is one of the cars that this kit will be installed on. The R4 vehicles will compete in local and FIA regional rally championships all over the world.
Oreca is a company based in France that has become the exclusive supplier for R4 kits for rally cars. The French company started the development process a while ago, and soon we will see in action the R4 cars powered by 1.6-liter turbocharged engines with all-wheel drive and sequential manual gearbox. The approval of the kit will be made between July and September 2017 and Oreca will be the official supplier in 2017, 2018 and 2019. The R4 kit will be approved for 7 years, with the option of extending up to 11 years.
To illustrate the future R4 kit, the French from Oreca used a Dacia Sandero, but this kit will be installed on a wide range of models like Renault, Ford, Volkswagen, Opel, Skoda, Peugeot and many others.
A new R4 vehicle will have a maximum cost of 186,000 euros, equivalent of $ 213,000. The French from Oreca said that these cars will have lower performances than the R5 rally cars, but the costs will be considerably lower. The new R4 cars will have high safety standards and will use plug and play kits and standard components.
