Dacia Sandero

Renault announced that they will present the new Sandero Pick-Up concept at the Sao Paolo Motor show in October. The new prototype is developed at the Renault design center in Brazil.

Patrick le Quement, the vice president of the Renault design division announced that one of the most important projects for the Sao Paolo design studio will be the face lift for the Logan.

Along with the presentation of the new concept Sandero Pick-Up, Renault will present the first sketch for the new Logan. The Sao Paolo Motor show will open on 27 October.

The strike at Dacia factory in Mioveni is over after three weeks . The workers have agreed to a salary increase about 300 LEI from January 2008, and  60 LEI from September 2008.

The workers and syndicalist’s have agreed to sustain  all objectives for 2008, objectives that were signed with Renault.

The strike that lasted 14 working days had negative consequences to Dacia factory (it wore produced 18.000 cars lesser than normal, and the loses were around 130 million euros).

Let’s hope that this strike will not affect Dacia Sandero launch in June.

Even if the workers of Dacia factory are on a second week of strike, the preparations for the launch of Dacia Sandero are going according to planning. Over 4000 models of Sandero will be ready in the show-rooms in Romania, at the beginning of June, at the biggest promotion day made by Dacia.

The vice president of Dacia, Constantin Stroe, said that the marketing strategy for the launch of Dacia Sandero is almost finished, despite of the strike. Dacia Sandero will be available in at least 3 paint colors (navy, red passion and white) and 7 metallic paint colors like platinum gray, blue and red electric fire.

The promotion campaign will start in May and it will be the greatest in Dacia history, even greater that on the launch of Dacia Logan. Constantin Stroe said: ” It will be an <Open Doors> campaign, in which 4000 cars will be ready for a test drive in over 100 show-rooms in Romania”.

Renault announced that the investment in Dacia Sandero model was 147 million euros, out of which the modernization of Mioveni factory was 82 millions euros. After the modernization the factory from Mioveni will be able to produce 60 Dacia Sandero per hour.

Along with the launch of the Sandero, Dacia presented the new logo that will appear on the new models but also on the old ones. The new logo will have a different font and a silver background and has a positive reaction from the fans.

Dacia is preparing to enter this year the British market. If Dacia Logan was not considered the proper car for the british market, Dacia Sandero is expected to have a lot of  fans in the UK. Dacia has not decided what engine will motorize the Sandero for the british market, but it seams that it will be the diesel engine because of it’s low pollution rate.

Dacia Sandero will be sold In UK through Renault dealers, in 30-50% of it’s showrooms in a special Dacia area. The latest information from the UK show that the Dacia Sandero price will start from 7000 pounds (9150 euros).

Dacia will not announce the price of the Sandero until June, when the car will be launched on the European market. Francois Fourmont, the General Director of Automobile Dacia SA said that the Sandero will have a competitive price for its class.

The new Dacia Sandero, launched in premiere at Geneva Motor Show, started great controversy on the auto market. Analysts say Sandero will be preferred in Romania and in eastern Europe by business clients and in western Europe will compete with Clio and Logan, because at the same price it has a better design.

The vice president of Dacia, Constantin Stroe said "Dacia Sancero is a popular car for all people, young and old".

Although it will be a "low-cost" car, the press from France wrote that for every Sandero produced in Pitesti Dacia will earn 15% of it’s price.
